I hello everyone, I'm also interested to know if you can take Amlodopine and Levothyroxine together . And are there any side effects. Star.
Amlodopine and Thyroxine . : I hello everyone, I... - Thyroid UK
Amlodopine and Thyroxine .
Yes its ok
No sorry, take thyroxine first an hour later amlodipine
Levothyroxine should be taken alone on an empty stomach an hour before food or caffeine drinks or other medications. You can still take any other medication as well as levo, just not at the same time. Amlodipine is fine to take.
Amlodipine needs to be taken at least 2 hours away from levothyroxine
I take both levo and amlodopine. Levo in the morning first thing in the morning and amlodopine last thing at night. This works for me.
I take levothyroxine as early as I can away from anything . If I can if I wake to go toilet early morning. I take my amlodipine on an evening along with my atorvastatin.
I have been taking both medications (but separately) for two years now. I have recently swapped them over, taking thyroxine at night and Amlodipine in the morning. I think the thyroxine at night is making my sleep better and it stops me from snacking over the evening (having to avoid food for four hours before taking it) and improving my gut symptoms. Amlodipine interferes less with organisation of food during the day. I can take it before or after breakfast. This order just seems to smoothe out my day better.
Do you get puffy feet/ankles/lower legs, particularly when it's warm? It's the Amlopidine (one in 10 side effect). I had a fight with my GP after the damned stuff ruined my holiday. He said there was no alternative; I'd already done my research. I'm now on Lercanidipine (one in 100 side effect). It's just more expensive for them - but by a fiddling amount.
hi there yes you can I’m on 10mgs of amlodipine for high blood pressure… and levothyroxine 100mcgs daily. Just be aware the blood pressure tabs might cause headaches at first.
I was on Amlodipine and I'm on thyroxine and Liothyronine. I'm under the Professor at the endocrine department as well. I developed swollen ankles and am now on Felodipine with no problems. Hope that's helpful.
I've been taking my Amlodipine & Bendroflumethiazide and thyroxine + t3 together for years, don't know why I didn't realise that, will start taking at different times🙈
Amlodipine was a contributory cause for leg ulcers, for me. I suggested lacidipine and lercanidipine, but was put on (and remain on) felodipine. The first calcium channel blocker I took was nifedipine but, for whatever reason, it was the form meant for treating Raynaud's, and caused daytime sleepiness. I find I need at least four hours between my thyroid dose and felodipine, if I'm to avoid a crash that could leave me feeling as though I could sleep while standing.
