Parathyroid
yes spent several years feeling awful batting back and to between thyroid and menopause specialists until diagnosed with long term primary hyperparathyroidism as well. Had surgery to remove parathyroid tumour and now ‘cured’ levels back to normal
Yeah thats the worst I ever felt before surgery. I kinda feel it may be back. My calcium is showing anything yet. But my calcium never got too high last time. It floated back between normal and just above threshold.
hello, I had my thyroid removed in 1996. I was told it was only a big inactive lump. I had felt very poorly before and after surgery because I now know I was very under medicated. In 2017 I had the suspicion of pHPT but was told to wait and watch. Lots of symptoms of course. Dec 2022 my condition worsened dramatically and in February 2023 I got finally the proper diagnosis and also a nodule showed on the US and sestamibi. Meanwhile I had developed osteoporosis in the spine, kidney and bone pain etc.etc. Meeting with a specialist surgeon March 9. 2023. I hope to get surgery soon ( I am in Germany) otherwise I think of going private in GB.
Bless your heart, sounds like you've been thru the ringer. Hope your surgery goes well and you start feeling better soon. I'm glad I didn't have any kidney stones nor osteoporosis. I do remember the bone pain and mental fog
