I started on 20 and it was reduced by 10 when FT4 levels were low.
So I haven’t stopped carbimazole but I do know how it feels to have a dose change….. & I didn’t feel that good & had several of the typical hyper & hypo symptoms.
It’s quite common to feel symptoms around dose changes because the body has to deal with changing levels & a new level.
once your levels are stable you’ll feel better.
Are you sure you were on the right dose of carbimazole? Do you have blood tests showing free T4, free T3 and TSH, for when you were diagnosed? Did they also test antibodies to make sure you absolutely do have an overactive thyroid and definitely need carbimazole? Sometimes doctors get it wrong. Just a thought….
Hello again :
It's more important to know how you feel coming off these pills.
The AT drug- Carbimazole - simply blocks your own daily thyroid hormone production so now with no AT drug your T3 and T4 levels should return to your normal.
Have you identified which antibodies were over range and positive and why you were prescribed an AT drug in the first place as requested in your first post some months ago?
