Hi SRTT.I haven't experienced any muscle pains as you're describing.
I do know that I wake in the mornings feeling stiff and tired, but not 100% sure if this due due to the Levothyroxine.
Sorry I haven't been of much help.
no worries thank you
These are recognised hypothyroid symptoms. I have found that since starting levo, my symptoms have changed. My ‘development’ since starting levo has definitely not been straightforward. I have acquired new symptoms, old symptoms rustled up from the depths etc. But again the literature does talk about thigh issues. Weakness sometimes being noticed well before diagnosis.
thank you for sharing your personal experience with it I really appreciate it
I'm sharing for help really. Doctors don't have time to discuss your illness they just decide on medication. Every bit of help has come from HealthUnlocked.
I had a nasty fall 15 years ago and went to the doctor who was angry I'd called just because of a bruise. He did look however and said the lumps had to be rubbed twice a day to make sure they reduced. I asked if I could have some time off work and he said no although the pain was crushing. Some years later I had an xray to check for arthritis and they discovered I had broken my pelvis during the earlier fall. That area has become really painful again since taking levothyroxine. Also a spinal issue many years ago caused my arms to act strangely including feeling freezing when warm. The pain in that spinal area has returned and i wondered if that caused my hands to shake but the doctors just said they didn't know.
I hear shocking things about medics all the time (including having my own shocking moments) on the forum, from friends etc. My experience is it is not a ‘caring’ profession. Even if they want to care, ‘guidance’ makes it nigh on impossible. Instead of reducing situations where doctors might find themselves in court, patients very much want to sue them. However it seems to me that’s what they have got ‘sown up’, allowing them to not be good doctors - almost encouraging them not to be good doctors! Your tale is truly terrible.
Since taking Levothyroxine I've found walking difficult due to pains in my upper legs, pelvis and lower back. I also have shaking hands which I didn't think we're connected but I've been forced to change my Levothyroxine brand and within days they are much worse.
Janey952 just a 'heads up' even though this is on SRTT 's post (sorry SRTT, not meaning to hijack it , just pointing out something that may be important for Janey to consider )
A fine tremor in the fingers (and hands) , and also tension in muscles and pains in the kidney area could possibly be signs that your dose of Levothyroxine is a bit too high. It might be a good idea for you to write a new post with you latest thyroid blood tests result sometime in case there is any further advice/ help that the forum can give you .
I went to the doctor several months ago to ask if I could stop taking Levothyroxine. If I took it with a cup of tea (which we are told not to) the swelling on my neck reduced. I was sent to the hospital to check my neck and two lumps were found plus I had Hashimoto. My doctor then raised my Levothyroxine from 50 to 100mcgs. He said my shaking hands were just old age. I'm 70. I was told a year ago to buy vitamin D which I take every day and since reading HealthUnlocked I now take B12 and B9. I'm amazed by how much people know about their illnesses since my doctors just tell me what medication I need and that's it.
