yes I take 25mg a day is there a reason you're asking?

I take 75mcg Levothyroxine daily and have done for nearly 15 years. I don't understand your reference to 'san' nor the reason for your question.

Been on 75mcg for almost 3 years now, since diagnosis.....total mix of brands, previous few batches have been all Mercury, not sure what next will be as just moved to a new area so not sure what pharmacies stock yet.

Chris,

You can ask the pharmacy to provide either Mercury Pharma or Actavis but 25mcg will usually be Wockhardt. If pharmacist isn't cooperative ask your GP to specify Actavis or MP on the scrip.

i have wokhardt whats the difference

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply tobinlid

Binlid, they all have different fillers which some people are sensitive to. Wockhardt has the least fillers.

thankyou cutter so is that a good thing then so confusing

It's a good thing for anyone sensitive to the fillers in Actavis and Mercury Pharma, Binlid. It's of no importance if you don't have sensitivity to any of the fillers. What's confusing you?

My experience is remarkably similar to yours Lizettaolive - and I have been on a reduced dose of 75 mg (from 100 mg) for 8 weeks now. My GP has followed this through with me largely to try to impede symptoms among which a very distressing sleep problem. The question I have concerns the register because there is no register in operation where I live and I would like to understand why and what a register does exactly because it seems it monitors you very closely and efficiently.

No one understands what you mean by san or sandoz.

Is this a brand in your country? If so, which country are you in?

I take 100mcg per day. Is there any groups you can go to so we can help each other ? Please

Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA) they have a few GP's on board that are willing to stand up for thyroid patients rights to proper treatment, good group to get help xx

Just googled sandoz out of curiosity, and saw it has no lactose! Will look in to it more, as am really trying to get gluten and lactose free thyroxine.

We live in the south but a friend of mine in the Midlands is also monitored closely like you. They will send reminders to have 3-monthly or 6-monthly checks and then alter dosage accordingly. I've never heard of that here at all - it's curious how different parts of the country have different systems in regard to the same condition.

It's hard to say as I am under a lot of stress looking after an elderly relative plus teenage family and if I say I get very tired it's difficult to separate the reasons !!

For the time being my GP and I have agreed for me to stay on 75 mg and see how it goes. Strangely, the TSH and FT4 readings come through in 24 hrs now after a blood test, but the T3 takes longer and still wasn't there 5 days after the test was taken. The register issue is very interesting though - hope to get more info on that as and when. Thanks for your help and all the best.
