Hi you lovely people. I am in the early days of getting treatment after advice private blood test results that indicated Hashimotos and I have had my first gp appointment he has found my thyroid is enlarged and has sent me for blood tests that’s all at the moment 😔 . Following advice on here at Christmas I gave up dairy and gluten along with soy and I feel so much better with no more heart palpitations currently and I was having those almost daily. My question today has anyone attempted Dr Alan Chrisiansons book/diet The thyroid reset. And was it helpful.
thank you in advance everyone always my first port of call in my endless thyroid journey.

Be sure to book that blood test for 9am, do it fasting. Post results here when you have them.
I have experimented quite a bit with diet, not this specific book or plan though. It really can be a transformation if you find the right diet for you so I would encourage you to give it a try.
hi Jaydee yep blood test booked 8.30 24th feb thanks for the fasting tip I had seen on the forum about a morning blood test so I insisted on one said I had to work ! Since cutting out dairy gluten and soy my palpitations have got loads better I still feel absolutely rubbish but not as rubbish if that makes sense. Do you eat eggs I still do but wondering if I should cut them out. Strangely on the thyroid reset plan gluten is ok along with soy strictly no dairy nor egg yolks, whites are allowed it’s all about eliminating iodine. It’s an America doctor so the recipes are quiet strange 🥺 cx
Diets can be a bit of a minefield and really depends on what you are trying to achieve. The book you mention says it's a low iodine diet so perhaps thats why certain things are removed.
The diets I did were mainly based on no processed foods, Paleo type foods with low/no sugar and low carbohydrates, no grains. They would be more aimed at supporting gut/brain function and energy. No claims at all about reversing any autoimmune condition which I think is a huge claim and I would be suspicious of that.
If you have already benefitted from removing gluten and soy and this diet includes them then you could still do it with those removed or pick a different diet that does remove them.
Oh and yes I do still eat eggs. Found them far better for energy rather than cereal based breakfast!
Hi Jaydee thanks for your thoughts I also am sceptical about some of the claims, I have bought the book and might cherry pick some ideas that make sense but I definitely don’t want to go back to how I felt before so no gluten and definitely no dairy as this was my main trigger. Cx
