This is the first time ever that the president will come from outside North America.

The election appears to be for the Endocrine Society.

I notice that both candidates are from the UK so I'm guessing the election results are only really going to affect patients in the UK?

I have no idea of the power the Endocrine Society has compared to, say, the British Thyroid Association. Who (with any power) pays attention to them?

It would be a lot more useful to know, how they would lead the society and what their plans are than the aren't I wonderful stuff.

Unfortunately for patients the "uniting" amongst doctors in a thyroid sense over the last 50+ years has been to minimise treatment and to not care about symptoms.

Sadly, that is exactly how it works in practice.

I note that John Newell-Price emphasised patient voices in his video.

Always so very difficult for outsiders to understand. The insiders have so much more to go on.
