Interview with Journalist

Would anyone be willing to talk to a national newspaper health journalist re difficulty getting levothyroxine oral solution?

I think she just wants a phone chat - but she might ask for a photo (if you have one), they often like it if they have one.

I would be ok to do this but my wonderful Polish pharmacist has done so well getting hold of it for me I’d sound like a fraud!

I'm quite sure you wouldn't be, or be seen as, a fraud.

Please, do not let this put anyone else off contacting me to get the journalist's details!

Hi Helvella, I just wanted to update you on what has been going on since I could not get any Thyroid meds that suit me since November 30th.I had pain round my kidney's and my daughter got me an appointment. If you remember the receptionist would not give me an appointment. Well I went to the doctor's on the 10th January. He gave me antibiotics for a bladder infection. But I did not receive any meds till 20th. In that 10 days I developed a bad ear and a cough from hell . I ended up in A&E on the 23rd January with Bells pausly x RA, and a veinal Arthritis. I have seen some wonderful doctor's at the hospital who are taking proper care if me.

Also my GP halved my thyroid meds without telling me or consulting me. I am now on a high dose of steroids for the foreseeable future.

If this information helps anyone else to know their own bodies and seek the help they need, and not be put off by an unqualified receptionist who tells them that it is a pharmacy issue. Regards. Mannequin.

Would STILL be very happy to hear from anyone who is willing to speak to a journalist.

We all know that journalists might find one story works better for them than another. So having several volunteers is highly desirable.

Hi Helvella, Sorry only just seen this post and may be too late but I would be happy to talk to a journalist if it helps to get a regular supply of liquid thyroxine and get to the bottom of the supply problem.
