Introduction: Hypothyroidism is a common disease. In its treatment, levothyroxine (LT4) supplementation is the usual procedure, which is available in the form of tablets or gel capsules in Hungary. In accordance with international trends, due to the early detection of cases, the treatment starts when the hormonal deviations are less pronounced. There has been no survey regarding the hypothyroidism treatment habits of endocrinologists in Hungary or Europe. Objective: The aim of THESIS (Treatment of Hypothyroidism in Europe by Specialists: an International Survey) is to assess the hypothyroidism treatment habits of Hungarian endocrinologists in Europe and in our current work and the possible use of LT4 in conditions not associated with thyroid dysfunction. Method: We sent an e-mail invitation to the members of the Hungarian Endocrinological and Metabolic Society (MEAT) to participate in an online questionnaire. Results: We performed the analysis based on the answers of 165 Hungarian endocrinologists. The majority of respondents, 99.4%, use LT4 replacement as their first treatment. The LT4 + LT3 combination is primarily used in patients who, despite taking LT4, show symptoms typical of hypothyroidism despite euthyroid hormone values (36.1%). In the case of euthyroid hormone values, high antibody levels and infertility, 60.3% would consider starting LT4, as there is currently no evidence to justify this. Many medical conditions affect the absorption of LT4, in these cases 66.4% of Hungarian endocrinologists prefer the use of the soft capsule, expecting better results from switching between forms of medicine. Conclusion: In the treatment of hypothyroidism, Hungarian endocrinologists primarily choose LT4. LT4 The combined use of + LT3 is considered for persistent hypothyroid symptoms after normal thyroid-stimulating hormone levels have been achieved. Newer pharmaceutical forms are preferred by the majority if lower bioavailability of the traditional tablet form of LT4 is expected

Looks like they focus on symptoms? Rather than in UK where there seems to be a blinkered following of tsh

Or at least commence treatment at lower value for TSH than here - not that that is difficult as we creep up to TSH of 10-20 and demand repeated testing to prove it. Let’s prolong the suffering for as long as possible. I haven’t read the paper in full yet, mind.
