Hi, I've been taking the Pure Adrenals for a couple of months, just one first thing whilst I waited for my adrenal test results which confirmed I have low points, just upped to 2 a day, but a little good advice that I hadn't remembered until re-reading one of     humanbean posts is not to take them after lunch unless you want to up re-reading things at 2am feeling very perky!

Not sure if this is the right link there are a few great conversations about adrenals

Regenallotment is a knowledgeable one too 🤗

hey,

I took a different approach and focused on thyroid hormone optimisation and vitamins and diet/lifestyle first. It’s taken over 12 months and I’m so much better. A lot of what I was feeling was under medication, food allergies and intolerances and sub optimal vitamin levels.

I’ve just read Dr. Sarah Myhill’s book and she has a chapter on adrenals. If my next few blood tests are steady and I’m still needing naps here and there, I will do the 24 hour saliva test that TiggerMe did to see if I need to look at this too.

Soz, flagged you up when should have been Relentless, but remembered you had some experience too and that's what it's all about eh 🤗

Irritatingly my book has yet to arrive, maybe tomorrow 🙄

I don’t mind at all and yes, more foggy brains are better than one, always. 💕🌱

Hi which tests did you have done to check your adrenals please. No one has ever checked mine. I have no thyroid and life is pants right now. Its been almost 10 years since I had it removed. My weight has soared and my fatigue is getting worse😞

I'm also curious how you (Booblet) found out that you are suffering from adrenal fatigue. If you decided on the basis of symptom lists this is not accurate enough to tell you. I thought I had low cortisol over a decade ago and (briefly) treated myself accordingly. But before I started treating myself I did a saliva cortisol test and when I got the results I found out that I actually had really high cortisol, and the treatment I was dosing myself with was just making me much, much worse.

Hello Booblet :

I'm without a thyroid - post RAI thyroid ablation 2005 and read how other organs including the adrenals take up this toxic substance to a lesser extent - and started Adrenal support some 6 years ago and still take a glandular to help support me.

There are several brands available as sold as supplements - I take full adrenal as opposed to only ' cortex ' .

As far as I'm aware the only test available is the Short Synacthen Test which apparently I passed though could hardly stand up for longer than half an hour and internally very shaky and afterwards read this test is not sensitive enough and basically only useful if you have Addison's Disease.

Think I'm right in saying SS test is the bodies response to adrenaline? This is the one many of us have done...

Sorry - I don't know - I've not looked into it that much as once I'd read it was not sensitive enough I just continued on reading up in other areas and taking the glandular supplement.

Sorry, I asked a while back - I used to take Nutri Adrenal Extra, containing both adrenal and pituitary: the alternative now contains neither of those. :-( There does seem to be products out there containing glandulars.

I used to take nutri adrenal but unfortunately went out of business. I replaced it with adrenavive iii for the strength which I have found helpful but have to ensure I take with food as it can upset my stomach. I know others who take Thorne adrenal cortex and have found that very good.

Feel free to pm me if you need further help x
