Sark1,
Great news, and I hope you feel better soon.
woop good for you, keep us posted on progress.
No improvement yet. Think I need to go to a 100 dose. And wonder about stopping a preventative low oestrogen treatment. Can anyone help
how long have you been on 75mcg ? It’s important not to change too often. If over 6-8 weeks then you should be ok to increase.
What makes you think you need to stop the oestrogen? Personally I don’t get on with female sex hormone HRT at all, didn’t do very well on the pill either, But we are all different and others swear by it.
Key thing is to only do one thing at time, which none of us are very good at.

Thanks for being so quick. I have been on 75 for at least 2_years then stopped for 2 weeks because I had hyper symptoms and no route to a doctor. Been back on 75 for a week with no improvement. I have been reading that oestrogen reacts with the thyroid . I'm on a low dose for uti prevention . There was a warning in 2021 that this might interfere with thyroid treatment
Adding oestrogen often results in needing dose increase in levothyroxine
Get bloods retested after 6-8 weeks on 75mcg levothyroxine
Thanks for responding. I don't think I can stick the jitters for that long. Any suggestions?
which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand
Is the oestrogen a pill or patch
HRT you swallow should be at least 4 hours away from levothyroxine
Try taking levothyroxine at bedtime to give better absorption
Just changed from Activas to North Star but think they are the same maker? The oestrogen is vaginal. Take Levi at around 0700 hours . Other med - Statin at night
which size tablets
Northstar 25mcg is Teva
Teva brand upsets many many people
Northstar 50mcg and 100mcg are Accord (previously called Activis)
If you were better medicated for thyroid you might not need statins
nhs.uk/conditions/statins/c...
If you have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), treatment may be delayed until this problem is treated. This is because having an underactive thyroid can lead to an increased cholesterol level, and treating hypothyroidism may cause your cholesterol level to decrease, without the need for statins. Statins are also more likely to cause muscle damage in people with an underactive thyroid.
Thank you. I just discovered the statin info earlier today. I think the current "breakdown" also caused my potassium to soar and my blood pressure to rise.
By the way Tiva made me ill too.
so are your Northstar tablets 25mcg …..if they are they will be Teva
Good though t but no I cut a 50 in half to make up a 75. You are kind to take so much trouble TH v much
