Blood types.... well I never knew that! They have different traits too

There can be heightened cortisol levels in blood type A individuals. This increase makes it hard for them to handle stress.

I first gave blood 55 years ago and was then given a card with my blood type which was O Positive. It was the most common type which I thought never went with my personality.

Anyway many years later O Positive is the good one to have in many respects. Good for the heart etc.etc.

No tantrums or boredom? Does the high stomach acid and low cortisol hold true?

O's certainly seem to have a more robust system

I think the robust bit is very true otherwise I wouldn't be here. I have never have any stomach or cortisol issues, no allergies, or Hashs either. Most of my troubles come from being mistreated as a child. i.e. Stress.

Being O-positive makes you a universal recipient which means, in an emergency, you can have any type of blood without it being harmful which makes you quite lucky… I am on the opposite end of the scale being O-negative and I’m a universal donor(blood donation services used to love me!) meaning anyone can have my blood, but I can only receive O-neg. It also meant that after giving birth to my children I had to be given the anti-D shot so I could have more if I wanted to without the threat of miscarriage. I stopped at 4! I’m not sure how blood type would influence character though…

Yes I know all about the blood types. I am 76 years old have given blood for years and have a nurse and a stroke consultant in my family.

Well I never….. I’m O+ I don’t have the acid/robust digestion thing but…

8. Immediate “Fight or Flight” ResponseThis can cause episodes of excessive anger, hyperactivity, temper tantrums, and chemical imbalance bringing about manic experiences. Blood Type O individuals are also vulnerable to destructive behaviors when exceedingly bored, tired or depressed, due to the synergistic relationship between feelings of reward and release of dopamine.

😳 a little familiar

Fascinating isn't it

Hi Eeyore100,

I've no idea what blood type I am?

I did try to find out once but it wasn't available. Is it in your GP records? I can't remember who I asked though as it was a few years ago.

Assuming there's a home blood test you can do?

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply toHedgeree

Go and donate some blood . that's how i know .

Hedgeree profile image
Hedgeree in reply totattybogle

Ah of course yes.

I was always underweight so wasn't able to give blood. Though not anymore! Maybe now's the time.

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply toHedgeree

Good idea,,, . people with hypothyroidism on Levo , can only give blood as long as they are settled on a stable dose of Levo, ( ie. not new patients trying to titrate, or people with wildly unstable levels) ...used to be "stable dose for ?6 months" i think , but it might have changed. i haven't done it for a long time.

Hedgeree profile image
Hedgeree in reply totattybogle

Ok well I'll have to wait a while then as new to levo as only been on a stable dose for 7 weeks.

Will investigate further.

I did one of these as I couldn't seem to find it anywhere on my records?

Seemed crazy that I didn't know 😧 wasn't good enough quality to donate... Rude!... didn't think to ask at the time

in reply toHedgeree

I only have it in my records because I had an emergency c section. They only test your blood type if they need to know it. :)

Hedgeree profile image
Hedgeree in reply to

That makes sense as I've only been in hospital for routine ops and a broken limb so they didn't need to know it.

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply toHedgeree

if by routine op you mean any type of surgery ,... they would have found out blood type before it , as part of pre op checks .. (in case all your blood accidentally falls out on the floor of the operatin theatre) .

Thankfully that didn't happen ha ha 😱 (horrified face)

the only way to find out in the U.K. is to give blood!

I’m 0+ but I’m so full of malaria antibodies (40 years after) they can’t use it for transfusion - it would kill the recipient 😳 it will never be any good for anyone else.

I'm B+

say's i'm vulnerable to autoimmune diseases.... (TPOab >3000 )...fair enough.... and i should eat lamb/ goat instead of chicken "This is because chicken contains a Blood Type B Agglutinating lectin which may cause harm to the bloodstream resulting to immune disorders or strokes."

mind you.... it also say's i'm 'people oriented' ... (i'm not, )

You're a rare breed in so many ways 😇 (smiling face with a halo) I imagine the rest of the description is nearer the mark?

"8. Blood Type B Personality

Individuals with blood type B has been described to learn best through listening, reflecting, and interpreting. They are also associated to being original, flexible, creative, mystical, idealistic, subjective, globally-oriented and people-oriented."

people-oriented

adjective

skilled at or focused on interaction with people.

"a people-oriented business like consulting"

You are 'people oriented' certainly in this medium.... perhaps they just missed out the 'at a distance' bit 🤣(Rolling on the floor laughing)

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply toTiggerMe

'oriented away from ' lol .

I used to work at music festivals .... when not actually working, i was usually to be found hopping the fence in the opposite direction to the blaggers .... or in my van.

"People" ....are a bloody nuisance.

What about Palmistry I have been studying it for years. People used to laugh about my studies but now even Cambridge University have studied it too.

I think the Chinese are way ahead on all of these things, they are wise enough to keep the 'old knowledge' alive... like acupuncture and qigong, we think westernising everything is better but we completely lose the power and essence of our life force

Who'd have thought chicken could be an issue.... always considered the benign meat

I read this book (or similar years ago), I feel it’s more like astrology than ‘medical or scientific’. I am type A+, allegedly do better as a vegetarian. I love vegetarian food. I love good food. However I am a definite carnivore and I have high enough ferritin levels to almost have haemachromatosis. I think there are still things to be known in that link between haemachromatosis and thyroid but I can’t wait around for it to be found! I try to eat grass fed meat. Chicken is full of hormones and possible disruptor of our hormones. Again this is left up to the govt and their advisors. So much we have no control over.
