Reformer and Rebounding

RobinRosieDibs123 profile image

I have done reformer Pilates for 14 years but after my parathyroidectomy and partial thyroidectomy I lost most of the strength I’d built up and had a lot of joint pain. I was miserable and angry but it was either carry on or give up completely so I’m still plodding away, still angry some days but it’s better than nothing. Have you tried reformer? It’s good fun and the reformer gives you more support and feedback.

I also do gentle rebounding. Lots of health benefits including gut and bone strength. Again good fun which I think we all need a bit of!!

I think this might have been a reply to GrowingVeg 's post about exercise. :)

I’m a huge Pilates fan; it’s helped me enormously, both physically and mentally. I do both mat and reformer but haven’t tried rebound.

Me too. I absolutely love Pilates, it is the perfect exercise for my body. Only tried a reformer once and I liked it but I do Pilates in a small group and we do mat based Pilates.

I used to have a rebounder but it made me feel seasick I didn’t like the feeling at all. It was also quite large to have lying around the house / garden especially when I wasn’t using it. .

As for fun RobinRosieDibs - you can’t have too much fun. Hope you feel better and get your strength back soon.
