Hi, i have a planned c section coming up and would need to fast 12 hours prior surgery. I also need to take medications to prepare for c-section. I was wondering when it best to take levothyroxine? Do i take it as normal in morning of c-section despite other drugs in my system?

I would take it as you are replacing something that should be there anyway. I suppose the anaesthetist will discuss with you though. hope all goes well x
Hi Chamomile
I take Levothyroxine but think it best that you check with your Consultant incase there are any contra indications with the medicine or anaesthetic.
As it is planned, the team should do a full blood work up and heart, bp etc prior to the op. I presume they know you have a thyroid problem, so they will include a thyroid test. I would have a word with them just to check though. Hope it all goes well.
