I recently put my blood results on here and was given some sage advice. I no longer have headaches which is wonderful
I increased my Levothyroxine to 25 umg a day along with my two grains of NDT. I also changed the brand of my B Complex to the Thorne Brand. However, I have had a chest infection and cough which wiped me out for about four weeks but having got rid of that, I am feeling tired, lethargic and down and have gained over half a stone. I know I’ve not been active due to infection but this is the heaviest I’ve been since before my TT four years ago so I wondered if adding more Levo might be the reason for increased weight/lack of energy or if there could be another factor
I would be most grateful for any advice as I am not sure what the addition of the Levo should do for me’ in terms of how I feel, but it did get rid of my headaches (or that might be the change in B Complex)
Thanks so very much x

Jaxie, think logically, your body has just spent 4 weeks fighting an illness. Vitamins, hormones will be depleted. The body will be out of kilter. No wonder you are washed out and feeling low. Be kind to yourself and take time to recover.
Thank you I know you’re right. I guess what I really want to know generally is whether adding Levothyroxine to NDT causes weight gain? Thanks for your response x
I don’t think there is a definitive answer to this specific point. Granted I have been very overweight for some time. Long before meds. Plus weight gain is a very common complaint around levo and indeed hypothyroidism itself. It’s like everything hypothyroid - it presumably is down to individual responses. I lost a little bit of weight on the 25 mcg starting dose (already have a heart condition). Since then no weight lost or gained. My calculation is my medication is still not correct - based on all symptoms not just weight.
