Please can someone advise a Private Endo, I really don't mind if I have to travel miles. I don't want one that just wants to destroy everything. I've looked on top doctor etc & just don't know. I read addenbrookes was the best, called their private patients & they Refuse to give details you have to find where they practice yourself & contact them!
I really need one to pull all these things I have together.
Thank you for helping me & will post results if I get them xx

Have you had back an official diagnosis and know what antibodies were found over range and positive from the original blood test as suggested to you in your last post ?
I only have the results from the original hospital test over 2 months ago. GP surgery has been useless & nhs Endo appointment by phone is end of December. So I'm not waiting anymore!
They must be there somewhere - can you contact the endo's secretary at the hospital for a copy or your surgery ?
You need the TSH, T3 and T4 results from this first blood draw and the antibody test detailing which thyroid antibodies were found over range and positive which is the medical proof of a diagnosis and the justification for prescribing said drug.
BEFORE considering booking any consultation we strongly recommend getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
With such high TPO antibodies it suggests Hashimoto’s (autoimmune HYPOthyroid)
Hashimoto’s frequently starts with transient hyperthyroid results and symptoms…..it’s not true hyperthyroid. Temporary high levels caused by cells in thyroid being broken down and destroyed releasing excess thyroid hormones
Carbimazole is not correct treatment for Hashimoto’s
To confirm if genuine HYPERTHYROID you need TSI or Trab antibodies tested for Graves’ disease
With either Graves or Hashimoto’s its ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels common with both
With hyperthyroid, high ferritin more likely
High cholesterol suggests hypothyroid
Also coeliac blood test required
Have you had bloods retested since September
On Carbimazole, especially initially bloods should be retested frequently
