Update of Levothyrox

Back again with some good news. In France we only had one Levo to choose from this made many people ill, including myself. The case has gone to the high court and the makers fined for altering the contents without informing people including the Doctors.

Because I had never been allergic to anything in my life before taking this I thought I would find out more. On Monday I visited the local Pharmacy and put in a written complaint. After much moaning, on both sides the lady went behind the counter and came up with a Greek one named Thyrofix she let me have 200 in total 100 x 75mcg and 100 x 100 mcg. I have only taken these for two days and feel nearly back to my old self, I will have a blood test in 6 weeks. I also added in two 12.5 mcg of T3 daily.

I wish to thank everyone on here that tried to help me.

That's fantastic news! Are you just taking the Levo' or are you taking some T3 as well? I am keen to know as I am still not feeling great on Thyroid S and at least I need not panic if there is a solution out there somewhere.

I am taking Levo plus T3. The Levo takes a while to build up in the body. I am taking 88mcg Levo daily and 3 x 12.5 T3 daily.

I actually think that the bad batch of Thyroid s was just weak maybe, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I will probably drop down the T3 after a couple of weeks when the Levo kicks in. It's a guess trying to keep well.

My medicines document also lists L-Thyroxin Henning, TCAPS, and Thevier Levothyroxine.

All listed in the official documentation:

The difficulty we sometimes have with pharmacists is hard to comprehend. They can't know everything, of course, but they don't always make the journey any more pleasant.

The only trouble here is the fact that many of us live in the middle of nowhere so have to rely on the goodwill of the Pharmacists which is not always forthcoming. Rather than help they sometimes don't bother. Leaving some feeling very ill indeed. It's good to know that there are other options as well, thank you.

Hi Margo just to recap. I am now taking 75mcg of Levo at night brefore I go to bed. I take 12.5 mcg of T3 early morning around 6am then after lunch well away from food I take another 12.5mcg of T3. That's about it. I must say that I felt well on Thyroid s for years before the latest batch. My blood test results were always perfect too. Please don't panic there is a solution it's sometimes hard to find it, especially when feeling ill.

I am wondering if it would be possible to get your product over here on the NHS?
