I’ve been on thyroxine for about 6 weeks and started off with Teva 50mcg but my tummy was not a fan. So after some nagging of the online pharmacy (thanks to info on this site) he found me Aristo which suits me much better. Problem is they only come in 100 mcg and I’m struggling to split them. Can anyone recommend a pill splitter please as I’m wasting some of my pills.
I did think as an alternative I just take one every other day. What are your thoughts on this my friends.
Thanks in anticipation 🥰🥰

You might be able to get it at your local pharmacy.
I can cut a 25mcg T3 tablet into quarters and I also cut my 50mcg Accord Levo in half.
You could also consider a sharp craft scalpel.
It is possible to take alternate days, Levo is a storage hormone so this is possible. It works well for me but some people are better with the same amount every day so don't get on with alternating. It's something worth experimenting with.
While you wait for a pill cutter try splitting them between your fingers and thumbs. I find this easy. With levothyroxine it doesn't matter if the halves are unequal as you store around 10 days worth of levothyroxine in your blood so a fraction of one tablet is nothing.
thanks for the info. I’ve tried using my fingers but these pills are strong little critters and they defeated me. When I cut them sometimes they shatter into tiny little bits so I was looking for alternatives. I’ve ordered the pill cutter Seaside Susie suggested and blew the budget on a pill box so I can cut a week at a time. Who’d have thought I could be so organised!!
I use the pill cutter mentioned above but find teeth can be of great assistance for smaller divisions and a lot more accurate than you’d expect! I don’t think fingers and thumbs would do it for me mine are very feeble and awkward cos of arthritis. Like darn claws not for highly accurate dexterous stuff like this!
