You need to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done

Folate was too low, now supplementing

ferritin deficient so you full iron panel test for anaemia

Vitamin D tested

have you finished GP prescribed folic acid yet?

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing. It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

Watch out for postal strikes, probably want to pay for guaranteed 24 hours delivery

Easier said than done I know but try not to worry. It’s good that you’re being sent for a scan—that will be the fastest way of seeing what’s going on.

In your last post you said you were on 150mcg levothyroxine but that your TSH was rising. Did you get a dose increase? Suspect you may be a bit undermedicated.

I assume they didn’t just test antibodies—have you got your other thyroid function test results as well?
