Did you get any treatment for it please ?

Dr wasn't concerned even though it was out of range. I did order some homopathic phosphate but not sure if it made a difference as not been retested.

Hi, who was it who organised your blood phosphate test and what was the result and range? What was their comment? When I have had mine tested in the past I also had calcium, Vit D and parathyroid hormone tests as they are all connected. Did you have these done too?

Do you have relevant historical tests too?

Hi,thanks for replying, yes it was gp and all the tests you mentioned were normal ,my results were 0.66 normal range is 0.80-1.50 .

I had mine tested along with the others you mention. Phosphate was low but when I pointed it out to the Dr he wasn’t concerned as all other tests were normal. I’ve asked this question on here too but no one seems to know what you can take.

Thanks, my gp has arranged to retest it in 4 weeks .

I also had GP saying not concerned about low phosphate. I flagged it with thyroid Endo and ended up with a primary hyperparathyroidism diagnosis and surgery to remove a parathyroid adenoma.

Good that he is retesting. The basic info seems to be that if your vit d is low, phosphate may be low and calcium high. Opinion is varied as to what causes what and the relationship to PTH. I mentioned the calcium pro below, you might find it useful :-)

Yep, there was where I was heading with my questions.

I found a very useful app. calciumpro where you can enter your blood results and it feedbacks what your results are likely to mean. I had raised calcium (2.62) and PTH (7.2) with vit D at 40 and phosphate of 0.73. Because my mum had hyperparathyroid ( we only discovered when she was dying of something else) my endo decided to do an overnight test which came back normal and so he decided it was my low vit d that was causing the issue. Some interesting info about all this on the calciumpro app. including what your calcium levels should be at different ages.

Subsequent testing of PTH etc shows that for me, when Vit d is normal everything else is normal too.

Hi kujude

Have you managed to raise your phosphate levels please?

If so, how did you do it?

Just got Bluecrest results today which show 0.84 (0.87 - 1.45)

I will try magnesium phosphate tomorrow as each capsule has 100 mg magnesium and 700 mgs phosphate

All the best
