It is difficult to know how much to believe when it comes to explanations such as that below. I have to say, I have some scepticism. But absolutely no evidence.
‘National shortage’ of drivers behind AAH delivery delays, wholesaler says

Wholesaler AAH has apologised to pharmacy contractors impacted by delayed or missed deliveries, citing a “national shortage of commercial drivers” and general “staff shortages”.
Hi I work for Lloyds Pharmacy, and I have never known things to be as bad as they are at the moment.
We have missed/late deliveries. Shortages of prescription drugs, and over the counter stock.
Pretty much every patient who has a large script, will be owed something - sometimes with no lead date.
Other Pharmacies are affected also. We have customers coming to us having tried several other pharmacies first for a particular out of stock drug.
We are telling customers to try independent Pharmacies in case they can source the item, as Lloyds, Asda Boots etc all use the same supplier/s. However the independents are struggling as well.
So though it is true that AAH does have delivery driver shortages, the manufacturing/supply chain is also responsible.
