Hi everyone ❤️
I'm trying to gain as much information as i can on my diagnosis of hyperthyroidism in 2018, later diagnosed as graves thyrotoxicosis, ( lost my thyroid in 2019 TT) I'm making a complaint to PALs.
looking back in my records from 2014 it appears i had 2 short suppressed TSH and a normal T3 ( can't find the T3 value🙄) with what the endo said was a thyroiditis episode with the possibility of this being subclinical HYPERthyroidism, ( TPO Ab were negative) "although she is having episodes of palpitations and profuse sweating I feel this is menupause related" , "past history of chronic fatigue syndrome would also account for some of her symptoms"
Her thyroid function was monitored at a later date which improved gradually, started on propranolol for symptom control, I suggest she as her thyroid function monitored at regular intervals especially following the episode of thyroiditis,
As far as i can remember and looking back in my records this advice was not carried out by my gp, In 2016 i started having tremors in my hands, with continued with server sweating episodes, palpitations continued, any time I saw my gp in relating to these symptoms he dismissed them as menupausal symptoms, so my hell continued until i collapsed at home on September 18th 2018, got to my surgery, saw a completely different gp who diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism ( later as graves) could the endo have been on the right track all along with her diagnosis of subclinical HYPERthyroidism?
and if my gp had bothered to take the endocrinologists advice on monitoring my thyroid function, could i have perhaps been diagnosed sooner?
This is just something i want to put forward to PALs👍
Any advice would be appreciated
