Results from my Surgery and medichecks. My ferritin has consistently been elevated over the years, but my Dr refuses to take any notice of this. Around the end of 2021, I was put on 25mg of levothyroxine because the last TSH test at my surgery was about 5.2. I had to be quite adamant with the Dr to prescribe it. Having taken the Levo for two months, I decided to stop it bc my hair was coming out. Fast forward to now, and the August 2022 test results show that my TSH has decreased by itself without medication. Also, I had a Cortisol and DHA test with Cambridge Science ( can upload) in July 2021. The Dr at CS said that I needed to show these results to my GP bc they required further investigation and that these results should not be mistaken for Addison’s disease. My Dr took no notice! More recently, in July, I saw a female locum Dr at my surgery and told her of my concerns about my low cortisol levels. She said that an adrenal test needed to be performed, but that never took place, and instead, a Cortisol test was done. I note that the results from this surgery say that the cortisol levels are within range, whilst Medichecks state that cortisol is elevated. I am long overdue to leave this surgery of which I’ve been a patient for 33 years, and the previous Drs were fantastic. Still, this new lot of Drs came in about seven years ago, and things changed dramatically with COVID and other ailments. I've found it difficult to leave.I want to mention I have a virus and am under a consultant (I won’t say here). I wondered if that might be the reason for the high CRP.

High ferritin levels
You need full iron panel test to see if iron is also high
Standard starter dose of levothyroxine is 50mcg
Starting on just 25mcg is too low and frequently results in symptoms getting worse
Cortisol is frequently high when hypothyroid as adrenals try to compensate for lack of thyroid hormones
ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning, ideally before 9am

CRP is an inflammation marker and will be raised when inflammation is present. It can also be raised when a bacterial infection is present and, possibly to a lesser degree, when a viral infection is present.
Ferritin is raised when inflammation or infection is present.
On your Medichecks results information you can view your results as a PDF. Take a screen shot of this and edit to remove your name. As a month has past since you posted, I would start a new post with all the information in place.
