I recently had a SST (July '22) but until I read on this forum not to eat beforehand, I had had a poached egg on toast! Following the results, my Hydrocortisone has been dropped from 25mg per day to 20mg. I realise this is a low dose but wondered if it will make any difference.
T4 13.2 previously 13.2 (Nov. '21)
TSH 2.27 previously 2.27 (Nov. '21)
Cortisol nmol/L 52 (0 minute) and 114 nmol/L (+ 30 minute) previously baseline 324.9 nmol/L and 440.8 nmol/L (Nov. '21)
I have been told I have Adrenal Insufficiency.
I am also taking Carbimazole 5mg alternate days for an overactive thyroid. This has just been reduced from 5mg each day.

Did you explain to dr they test wasn’t carried out with you fasting?
What is the cause of your adrenal insufficiency?
Has the doctor prescribed Hydrocortisone to help treat it but adjusted the dose?
I’m not clued up on the condition & treatments.
For thyroid:
Do you know the cause of your hyper? Eg suspected Graves?
FT4 looks low (very low) by most ranges we see **please add range** [ranges vary between labs so always needed]
Has FT3 been tested?
5mg alternate days is an extremely low dose. Presumably you look higher previously and it has been reduced? When were you diagnosed what doses were you given?
Were thyroid antibodies tested?
Also important to test folate, ferritin, b12 & vit d. Have these been tested?
Thank you for your reply. I will try to answer your questions as best I can.I was asked if I'd eaten and told them what I'd had. I was given Hydrocortisone to treat it and an injection kit for use in an adrenal crisis which was explained over a phone call. I have never been told the cause of this.
As far as the thyroid is concerned, this was diagnosed after eighteen months in September '21. At first I was told it was thyroid cancer but following a scan, this was not correct. I was given 20mg Carbimazole daily and in the November the Endo took it over and immediately cut it to 5mg.
I list below the results I have been able to find.
