I am on 150 mcg of levo ( liquid)n I take it early at night time 4am with 25 g of t3.i have been on this for 6months and have upped my t4 does as my symptoms were not improving.my tiredness n dry skin to some extent has gone away but my water retention is the same,my face hands, feet are all swollen n puffy I know my carpel tunnel is being caused by that.does anyone have any remedies? I was given a mild dieretic but it didn't work on me and I'm at the end of my tether....my Co stipation is still there,I have cut wheat and eat lots of veggies n a piece of fruit a day.

Can you share your thyroid blood tests with us, so members can best advise Saintrockz. Have you tested key vitamins (folate, ferritin, vitamins B12and D)?

My carpal tunnel issues resolved when my medication/ vitamin levels were optimal, although periodically flares when things need adjusting. I find a hand splint helps at night. I’ve also benefitted from taking turmeric (with ginger and black pepper). Some members have needed cortisol injections to improve their carpal tunnel.

I was initially prescribed furosemide for facial swelling (I have TED) but this made little difference. Keeping well hydrated is really important and reducing salt intake can help reduce swelling. Ultimately you need to ensure you are optimally medicated thyroid wise.

Have you ever tried splitting your T3 throughout the day? These works better for some members (me included). It’s trial and error to see what works best for you.

When you say ‘cut wheat’ are you strictly gluten free? To see if gluten free works for you, you need to 100% eliminate it for 3 months. Being GF eliminated the bloating I’d previously experienced.
