Triyotex experiences?

Hello, does anyone know anything about what happened to T3 Cynomel by Grossman? I know it went out before for a long time, but they came back. Now I cant find it again and I am IN Mexico. No pharmacy has it and they dont know what happened to it. I have been on 75 mcg Cynomel in divided doses for a long time now. It is so frustrating to have to find another medication.

There is Triyotex 75 mcg here in Mexico too and I bought a box. However in reading old posts it appears the consensus is that it is weaker than claimed on the box. No one seems to know if it is extended release or not either. It is a capsule with little beads inside. I did take one earlier today and so far no adverse, so I doubt it is fully 75 mcg at once, seems I would feel that.

Did anyone have good experiences or anything to report regarding using Triyotex? Thanks!

I bought Tryotex several years ago when Cynomel was unavailable.

I only used it briefly until I found another source of T3....

It seemed much weaker. and have to admit I ( correctly) disposed of the remainder.

Hopefully someone else has had a more positive experience.

You'll most likely find Cynomel available again....it seems to be unavailable periodically

Probably something to do with servicing/ upgrading the pill machines

Yes, I took one today and it seems very weak, not sure it does anything. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. What other source of T3 did you find? Im in that boat now again and they want to know why we hoard our medications. :(

It seems that Grossman Cynomel is unavailable again at the moment and nobody appears to know why or when it may become available again.

I can't help with Triyotex I'm afraid.

I have found no evidence that Tryotex is in any way slow or retarded release.

Grossman used to be a subsidiary of Canadian Valeant - but they are now Bausch. (Difficult keeping up with it all.)

Tryotex is available in 10 and 75 microgram tablets.

There is a tiny bit more information in my medicines document.

If you do find out anything else, please let me know! It has been difficult getting definite information from Mexico. (And I do mean anything. But especially helpful if you get any links or PDFs or scans.)

helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.

This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and Google Drive, and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.

The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.

Thank you. My experience yesterday with one of the 75 mcg triyotex was that is did little to nothing and not willing to risk my health by extending a trial out on that one. There are also 10 mcg liothyronine tabs available here, but dont know how well they work. I probably will end up trying some to extend my cynomel out a bit. I take 75 mcg a day, so it would be tedious and expensive to take them as 10 mcgs. Do you want me to take a photo of the box and message to you? Of that one, or do you have it. Grossman also makes a combo product in Mexico that is T4 and T3, but I cant take that. I dont know if that is still available or not. Im trying to order the Turkish one which is weirdly available in Mexico online. Hopefully I will receive that one.

Have sent you a PM with an email address for me.

You can't send pictures in PMs!

I'm interested in anything that would likely help members into the future.

Can you pm me the name of the Turkish one & where you ordered from? I suspect it’s one that I’m familiar with but have no source.

The Turkish one, which is shown in my medicines document, is branded Tiromel.

If anyone suggests a source, check with an admin before ordering as there are some scammers.

What is the name of the Greek formulary, please?

I didn't ask where the meds came from but the name of the product produced. It's no different from giving the Mexican name of the Turkish name already given.

I read your reply several times and couldn’t make any sense of what you meant by “name of the Greek formulary” other than either a pharmacy or supplier name - or information already in Woopy66’s reply.

I jumped in to try to prevent any replies that would have to be removed.

Hi,I have had the same issue with the Mexican pharmacy I normally order Cytomel or T3 from, they claim to have run out and do not know when it will be back. We had a mistake and they ended up sending me some T4/T3 combo by mistake, it was amess.

Bit I did a bit of searching and just ordered Tiromel (Abdi Ibrahim) from a new pharmacy if you are interested. The price was 1/3 of the Mexican pharmacy's, BTW.

Probably best to wait until you have received the product and found it satisfactory before passing it on (via Private Message). The last thing we want is members getting recommended suppliers who are not trustworthy. :-(

I am in Mexico so it is a bit hard to receive things, we are not stable, but traveling. They dont really have a reliable mail service either. I did order the Turkish one from an online place in Mexico, I hope to hear soon if they are shipping it or not here locally at a mail place. It was a not really less expensive, but at this point it doesnt really matter. In Mexico, the Cynomel is only about $13 US a bottle and most pharmacies here discount the marked prices. However, when I got it shipped to the US from an online pharmacy, it was a whole lot more than that. I just looked it up, it was about $38 per bottle, quite a markup.

Thank you for the reply. That name wasn't clear as it sounds like a manufacturer.
