Metabolical - interesting read!

I'm listening to this book on audible.

It's not specifically about thyroid but it's a really interesting listen in terms of overall health and medicine.

Just in case it's of interest to anyone else!

Metabolical: The truth about processed food and how it poisons people and the planet

It's written by a retired doctor and talks about how medicine is in a stranglehold of big pharma, among other things! I found it interesting. :)

I've just got to chapter 9 titled 'Assembling the clues to diagnose yourself' and it's talking about advocating for your own health.

"You must never use or accept the word normal from your doctor, yourself, or anyone else. I mean, what does normal actually mean? Normal for who? At what age? and in what circumstance? This term must disappear from your lexicon and it should disappear from the entire medical lexicon."

I searched for Lustig on Youtube. He appears in quite a lot of videos, either alone or with others.

One of his very old videos (12 years old) has been viewed over 20 million times)

I didn't think to search youtube! I'll have a browse later. :)

It's always nice to hear a doctor questioning the system!

He talks about how 'change happens one death at a time' and the medical field is like the mafia. You get the 'head honchos' who control the narratives and suppress/dismiss the research that calls their beliefs (and power) into question... once they die you get the new, younger medics able to challenge those ideas and medicine can progress again... and begin again...
