Latest Blood Results. Low TSH/High T4

Latest blood test with Monitor My Health

Blood draw around 0900 on empty stomach.

TSH 0.06 (0.27 - 42.)

T4 24.9 (12-22)

T3 5.5 (3.1-6.8)

Currently on 125mg Levothyroxine.

I feel ok although do get fast heartbeat now and again.

Do you think I should reduce to 100mg.

as fT4 is only a little bit over range , (assuming test was approx 24 hrs since last dose levo ?) Then if it was me , rather than reduce to 100mcg , i might first try reducing very slightly to 112.5mcg .

ie 125mcg / 100mcg on alternate days ... or cut a 25mcg in half to get 112.5mcg if you prefer to take same dose each day.

give that a couple of months to settle , then re-asses how you feel.

Well reducing your T4 dose may jeopardise your T3 reading which currently is coming in at just around 65% through the range :

Are you self medicating - if so I'd suggest staying put if well :

You could try dropping half a 25mcg tablet - 12.50 T4 - if concerned about this slightly over range T4 if there is pressure from your doctor to drop a full 25mcg dose.

Do you have results for ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D as these need to be maintained at optimal levels for good T4 to T3 conversion.

FT3: 5.5 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8)

Ft3 is only 64.86% through range

Reducing dose levothyroxine will also reduce Ft3

How long have you been on 125mcg

Was test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Perhaps reduce levothyroxine a tiny amount

112.5mcg two or three days a week and 125mcg 4 days week

Test was done around 0900 and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before.

The brand is usually the same. Honestly can't remember how long I have been on this dose. I was on 175mg for a long time.

Vit D was done with latest test. Result 81 (50-200)

Ferritin and B12 tested September 2021 with Medichecks

Folate sample was unusable unfortunately. Think you have to do that separately with Medichecks.

Ferritin 110 (12-150)

B12 207 (25.1 - 164) HIGH

Vitamins taken B12, Vit D, COQ10, Magnesium

I know if I see the GP, they will just reduce to 100mg.

Will reduce to 112.5mcg 2-3 days as you suggested.
