Treated for hypothyroidism, taking T4 & T3, should I be concerned by my persistently low TSH result?

Hello everyone,

I have just received my Medichecks results for my treated hypothyroid condition (subclinical, with raging symptoms, diagnosed about 3 years ago):

TSH 0.01 mU/L (0.27 - 4.2)

FREE T3 6.53 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8)

FREE THYROXINE 17.8 pmol/L (12 - 22)

I take Levothyroxine 87.5 mcg once daily, and Liothyronine 17.5 mcg daily split into 4 doses (5, 5, 5, 2.5)

I feel quite fortunate that I now feel ok & stable on this treatment, but I am wondering whether I should be concerned at my persistently below normal range TSH?

I was considering whether I should increase my T4 slightly (93.75 mcg), with a view to retest in 3 months, and potentially then decreasing my T3 to say 15 mcg.... would a gradual tweak of my dosage (T4 up, T3 down) result in a beneficial return to normal of my TSH, assuming my symptoms do not return?

If you feel well then change nothing, don't rock the boat.

When taking T3 it always lowers, and can suppress TSH, it's just what it does. As long as your FT3 is within range then you are not overmedicated. As long as you continue to take T3 then your TSH will remain low.
