I asked a question about my test results about 3 months ago and was encouraged to get the Dr to increase my levothyroxine. At first the GP said they would not do this even though my medichecks results gave the advice to increase my dosage as my TSH was 4.88.
Long story, but I finally got the GP to agree to do this by saying that as per my weight, I should be on a higher dosage if you consider 1.6 mcg per kg. So they agreed on this basis and I went from 125mcg to 150mcg.
Fast forward to now, some 10 weeks since my dosage increase, and I had my bloods taken to see the difference. In my self I had been feeling better - less fatigued and less brain fog. However over the last couple of weeks I had started noticing little things cropping back up so I thought maybe they were a sign I was now over medicated.
However to my shock, my TSH has barely changed! It’s only come down a fraction. And my FT3 and FT4 have gone up slightly.
Is my problem that I am not absorbing my meds well? Or is my increase not enough? I have some Tiromel which I had sourced privately but not sure if this is my answer either (and not really sure where to start with it). Can anyone offer any advice please? I really want to get my TSH back down to the 1 market where I felt great but just seems impossible to do this.

Thank in advance,
Evelyn

Probably your TSH has only come down a bit because your FT3 has only increased a bit. What was your FT3 when your TSH was around 1? Because it wasn't the TSH making you feel good - or lack of it. TSH doesn't make you feel anything. It's T3 that causes symptoms when too high or too low.
Your FT4 has gone up, so you are absorbing it. You're just not converting enough of it to T3. Are your nutrients all optimal?
Thanks for replying greygoose.Annoyingly I didn’t have my FT3 tested at that time as it was a GP blood test and they only did my TSH which was 1.1.
I did get a full panel about 10 months later when my TSH had increased to 2.69 and my FT3 was then 3.91.
I haven’t had recent nutrient tests so I will consider getting these. I do take D3 and B12 and also selenium though so these should still be within the right ranges.
Any suggestions on what I can do to help optimise my results?
