Hi everyone

Is anyone here taking thyroid ERFA.? Have anyone experienced hair loss on it

I just ordered erfa after taking other thyroid meds and have experience negative side effects. I have been thru a roller coaster. Since Nature Throid had a recall in sept 2020. It was the only medication that worked.

Yes I’ve experienced hair loss since taking it I was ok till I started taking it not everyone as the same side effect I also get chest pains and I feel so poorly with it but I still take it I had my tft done and was really bad 15 years ago I was taking all kinds of meds nothin worked for my levels and this is the ok tone that works for me I have lost a lot of hair but I think to myself what’s hair when it’s making my thyroid better most of the time thyroids won’t mend depends how long you have had high or low levels for but for me taking a medication that causes hair loss is better than not taking a medication at al and becomin even more poorly I have noticed a slight change in thyroid symptoms as well so I’m happy but a little bit more hairless but I’m happy Apart from isolating myself as I’m ashamed to go out 😔😔hope your well and you sort this

Tammy Wow sorry to hear that. And I am sorry you have to isolate because of your symptoms.

Well the hair loss is huge for me. I stop taking 3 meds because of it. Now I am going to give this erfa a try. I have ordered from canada and I guess will be in the usa in about 15 days or so.

How many mg are you taking and for how long.?

I’m on 125mg I have bloods again in 8 weeks time he’s wanting to put me on 150 then 175 every 8 weeks that’s if he doesn’t see any changes I’m on Levothyroxine I’ve had chest pains since I was diagnosed and was told I’ll always have thyroid problems the tabs will keep it at levels

Do you have any current results for inflammation, and the vitamins and minerals - ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D as if these are not optimal they can compromise any thyroid hormone replacement working well.

Hi penny annie I will be taking all those blood work before I start the Erfa . I will have erfa most likely in 15 days. So blood work in a week or so.

Thank you for your reply and I will post test and you can take a look.

Hair loss It is a common symptom in the first few weeks after starting treatment. I recently ordered my Erfa and I'm waiting for the package to arrived.

Adin That is true. But I never experienced hair loss on nature Throid that got recalled in 2020. Let me know how you feel after starting erfa

I hope there will be no batch issues. I read good reviews about the product. I used thyroid - s (Thai ndt) but I gained weight from it, maybe I didn't raise the dose enough, ft4 was below the limit so I gave up and went back to synthetic.

What other issues were you experiencing along weight gain.?

Unfortunately after I was finished with the last bottle I managed to secure of nature throid. My dr put me on armour throid. I almost ended in hospital. I stopped that for two weeks and he tried compounding the ingredients. Omg. No good same reaction. So he wanted to try synthetic Levothyroxine and I was sick once again. Erfa was suggested and here I am. Hoping all that take it get good results.

My knee hurt and my skin was more Orange, my blood pressure rise, etc...I know when my right knee hurts, is sign of hypo for me.

Yes, maybe Armour was to strong for you.. (super potent). I hope Efra is good for you. You split your doses or you take it all in one?

joints issues and orange in color. That’s terrible. Sorry

I took 32.5 mg nature thyroid. The best. Then 30mg armour throid. Then compounding t3t4 30mg. Then she put me on 25mg Levothyroxine and now erfa 30mg. Nothing split but all the changes within 2 -3 weeks of feeling awful since I stop nature throid.

So is being a challenge.

O-o it's small dose, I need more than 3 grains of ndt.

I am taking ERFA and also Levothyroxine at a reduced level. My hair used to fall out all the time on Levo, for 30 years but since adding the ERFA it doesn’t anymore. It is very fragile though and breaks easily but doesn’t come out in the shower anymore. It’s trial and error at the moment with dosage. Good luck

Is so good to hear that at least that problem was rectified I am beginning to understand how tough it is to find the right dosage.

Take care
