Advice on latest labs please? 🙏

Hi all!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here though I lurk sometimes. Hope everyone is well!

Just wondering if you could give advice on my latest bloods? I feel ok - not bounding out of bed but I find it hard to know whether that’s thyroid or just not enough sleep & exercise! I’m on 100mcg levo and 10 of lio. I have previously tried to up levo by 10mcgish per day and do feel better but i went over range so I stopped the extra.

I’ve taken my eye off the vitamin ball so will be addressing that for sure. (Ferritin is ok at 110 / 150).

I took my meds 24 hours before meds, fasted, AM test as this is what my endo prefers (he’s one of the good ones).

Thanks in advance

Increase the Levo or the Lio by 10mcg?

An extra 10mcg of Levo shouldn't have taken your FT4 over range, it's only 37% through range with that test so I imagine a similar level before you increased?

If it was Lio that you increased by 10mcg then it's understandable, that was too big an increase, 5mcg increments at a time is what is recommended with Lio. Plus if you left 24 hours between last dose of Lio and the test it was too long and gives a false low result, so your FT3 would be higher than recorded and taking an extra 10mcg Lio would take it over the top of the range. Last dose of Lio should be 8-12 hours before the test, splitting dose into 2 or 3 the day before and taking last part 8-12 hours before test.

I take Levo plus T3 and if those were my results I'd need FT4 higher, I'm one of those people who need both FT4 and FT3 reasonably well balanced over half way through range, aruond 70% seems to suit me.

Have you tested all your key nutrients recently?

Thanks for reply. Sorry it was 10mcg of levo I added per day but taken as one extra tab per week. But I think my readings were a little higher last time before I upped. Vitamin results are just above, definitely need to work on those. Don’t know how vit d has got so low so quickly!

Vitamin results are just above,

Oh dear, I either need a coffee or a visit to Specsavers 🙄

Folate could do with a lift, their range is 3.89-19.45 and it's recommended to be at least half way through range so you're looking at at least 12 plus with that range. Also, even though B12 is pretty good, we generally say aim for 100 plus. So maybe a good B Complex like Thorne Basic B? Remember to stop taking it 3-7 days before any blood test as the biotin it contains can cause false results.

Do you normally make Vit D naturally from the sun in the summer? If not then maybe try 2,000iu D3 daily along with it's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7.

9 months ago FT4 was 14.9 and you wanted to increase your Levo from 100 to 125mcg. Did this increase take your FT3 over range rather than what I was thinking the FT4 over range?
