Advice here is to take last dose of Levo 24 hours before test. Taking it before the test gives a false high FT4 result. However, taking it 20 minutes before the test may not give it enough time to start being absorbed but I cannot say for sure if it will affect result or not. Compare your result to previous result if you took last dose of Levo as we advise, then the result should tell you if it's made a difference.
Yes, it will make a difference to your results. It is recommended that when having a blood draw it should be at the very earliest a.m.
It is a fasting test (you can drink water) and to get the earliest blood draw but we don't take thyroid hormone replacements until after the blood draw.
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
TSH is slow to alter after any dose change
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking and how long on this dose
Which brand of levothyroxine
Are you also testing vitamin levels?
