There is room for an increase going by the ft4 level and tsh plus you are symptomatic.

Thyroid results look fine. When did you take your last dose of Levo before the test? No FT3 though which is the most important test and rarely done, it's low T3 that causes symptoms.

Also very important are key nutrients - Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin - low levels and deficiencies can have symptoms which overlap with symptoms of hypothyroidism. Low Vit D causes muscle and joint aches and pains.

Liver function test all looks OK.

Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate

When were vitamin levels last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease, also called Hashimoto’s diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis) usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

but 20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis

Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s

Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.

Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.

In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Is this how you do your tests

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

This is my main but not exclusive on going symptom for nearly 10 yrs, to point in 2020 I became almost rigid and struggled to get out of bed with thigh, pelvis, hip and back aches and spasms … my GPs always said my thyroid was ok… on seeing an endocrinologist (with thyroid interest) he said my levels could be better… my TSH was much higher often in region of 3 or 4 which is much higher than yours. My FT3 was very low and I’m a poor convertor I haven’t taken the deiodinase test as I was put on Liothyronine (T3) privately after increase in dose of levothyroxine (T4) didn’t help at all.

I went on HRT before taking T3 and it helped somewhat but taking T3 has helped in a way that if I do get musculoskeletal problems I actually recover, I was going round in a circle previously not getting any good days.

I’m not fully there yet my FT3 levels are still low as are FT4, however my endocrinologist is chasing TSH and it’s suppressed to point he wants to reduce my levothyroxine 😔 and not increase my T3… I’m still under endocrinologist as I can’t get NHS prescriptions for T3.

However it’s just a consideration if all your iron, ferritin, folate, vitamin B12 & D are all good range as they help, it might be worth looking at hrt (if your over 45, get tested if under) look at calcium levels and creatinine… my calcium was good neither high or low (both can cause muscle/bone pain) but my creatinine was elevated and if your kidneys aren’t working as well and getting rid of toxins and they’re circulating in blood this is an area which might cause muscular symptoms.

Mine had come down a bit as my FT3 improved but might be coincidence but my FT3 levels are still low but retesting U&E and thyroid soon to see how things are.

Magnesium both topically and orally may help we are often low in this mineral an area I’m considering orally as I already use magnesium body butters.

Another simple move maybe look at what brand Levothyroxine your on and see if it’s actually that brand causing problems.

I wasn’t good on the Lactose free Aristo and Teva brands and felt much better once ditched those.

I hope things get better for you.
