Did you do the vitamin D test? What was the result?

Have you had your B12, folate and ferritin tested recently?

Yes, all is ok although serum folate had dropped from 19.94 (10.4-42.4) i april to 13.08 early june. B12 was 496 from 440 so supplementing that again.

You mean your vitamin D level is equal to or over 100nmol/L?

I guess you need higher B vitamins if the pains started a couple of months ago.

Edit - Just seen your other post. No wonder you are in pain.

VitD is 94.6 but still going to supplement

Hello Jefner Just sending you a ((hug)) if you need one today :)

I get odd aches and pains now and again, not my hypo though. I get stabbing pains in my little finger joint, I have a Heberden Node or Bouchard Node (nobbly knuckle) there, and a couple developing on my first finger of each hand. The stabbing is really painful and I'm sure the joint bends a bit more each time. I'm also getting it at the base of the thumb joint. Achey back too sometimes, but that's because of some damage many years ago. I had some really strange stabbing in my foot in bed last night, thankfully not bothering me at the moment. I don't need any more problems LOL!

Hi SeasideSusie,

Stabbing pains in my foot at night was how my B12 def started. I'm sure you're already aware of the symptoms. I hope it's isn't the start of anything else for you. 😉

Thank you Jose651 Fortunately my B12 is good, 991 last time it was tested and I still do a maintenance dose 3 or 4 times a week. Very strange how we get these funny little aches and pains and then they go away again.

Happy to hear that your levels are good SS.

A little antenna shoots up and I just have to alert the member that it could Be B12.

It comes from my own experience of not been diagnosed when I should have been. Same old, same old.

Keep well.

J 😀

Yes I can relate to that too, feels like my fingers have been shut in a door or my knuckles have been hit with a hammer, oddly my feet hurt too when I walk and suffer burning pain in my heels.

Aches and pains are my major symptom when hypo and they return if I go above my comfortable medication level. I use NDT. My aches seem to be linked to inflammation and weak ligaments because my knees and pelvis actually become unstable when I am hypo, but just fine when properly medicated. I have written elsewhere about these awful symptoms and a history of their misdiagnosis and treatment.

Yes I do get these pains, I was told it's fibromyalgia. It may be due to my thyroid treatment not being right? Also I have low B12 and low VitD. I am on B12 injections and that helps.

yes, I get a lot of bone pain but I have joint hypermobility syndrome and osteomalacia as well as hashi's so they could be the cause. Just out of interest, I get the bone pain even though my B12 is very HIGH (over 1200 for last three years which was when they started testing it).

It feels as if my bones are swelling and trying to force themselves through the skin, is that the sort of pain you mean?

Just more of an ache rather than pain. Your b12 is high!

Yes, it is high. I keep being told it is nothing to worry about but surely it shouldn't be that high, especially as I have never supplemented for it.
