I’m in the process of getting testing done with a new specialist after having to self medicate the last couple of years and wanted some help with adrenal results if possible.
She wanted me to do the tests whilst still on my medication- I am currently on Nutri adrenal tablets and thyrogold (advised by Dr P back in the day).
8am sample - 13.8 (ref range <20.3)
12pm - 4.60 (ref range 1.5-7.6)
4pm - 3.5 (ref range <6.95)
10pm - <1.5 (ref range - <7.56)
She has said these are all normal results which obviously they are on tablets. Whats confusing me is there is no lower limit on the reference ranges so I can see if they are falling low ish. Does anyone know if these levels are good or if they could do with improvement?
I am now having to come off all adrenal and thyroid support for 5 weeks and retesting!
Very much appreciated
Thank you
Sarah

Is there a graphic that you can post which shows where your levels are plotted against the normal "curve"?
I'm used to using Regenerus which has a graphic and gives an optimal range as well as a reference interval so it's easy to see how well (or not) you're doing (this is their sample report, not my results):
No unfortunately not. Years ago when Dr P did it for me I had something similiar but this time I only have access to the print out from the specialist and there is no optimal range or lower limit. I am thinking when I get it retested next month I will ask and see if she can include that data if they have it or I’ll pay and get it done at Regenerous.
Have you been able to see a trend with feeling well and how close to the upper limit you are? Eg 2/3 up the range etc?

I have failed miserably over quite a few years to raise my levels.
Initially when I tested back in 2015 I had top of range for first 3 samples and mid-range for the bedtime one. I was consulting a "hormone specialist" at the time to try and sort out my problems and this was one of many tests I presented her with. She said my levels were too high and put me on adaptogens but never advised me to retest, hence 2 years later when I thought about it myself (after I had ditched her because she was pretty useless) I discovered they were all bottom of range - well I suppose that proved that adaptogens worked really well for me 🙄.
So since 2017 I have been trying to raise my levels with adrenal glandulars, with little success, so I have now stopped them altogether and may retest at some point but am in no hurry.
Having multiple conditions I never "feel well" and as symptoms overlap it's hard to know sometimes what might be causing them. For thyroid I rely on test results, keep my key nutrients at optimal levels, and just do my best to try and keep other conditions stable.
I have just replied on this thread about the Regenerus test so you can see what are the optimal levels to aim for:
Oh gosh, I feel for you. I’ve been in a similar situation as I also saw Dr P many years ago. My GP was aware of my “self help” but wanted me to stop everything (NAX and NutriThyroid ) so he had a base to work from when I had some other issues. I thought that was a reasonable request and complied for a few weeks (I think - it was quite a few years ago now). I felt so awful that I gave up and restarted the adrenal and thyroid support again. It’s really hard to know what to do since Dr P retired. Perhaps we need a self help group for former patients of DrP?
Ah thanks so much for your reply it’s so nice to speak to someone who has been through it! I am really hopeful that this new doctor (touch wood) will be able to help - she was recommended by thyroid uk and is sympathetic to our struggles. If by the end of it she agrees to help me should I send you her details via private message?
Im honestly feeling horrendous at the thought of getting through five weeks in case by the end she says ‘everything normal’, my worst nightmare! I know I can treat myself and that is what is causing it but would be nice to have a doctor to help support the process in the log run.
What is NAX? And have you found succes with your help since Dr P left his practice? Would be lovely to chat,
