Would someone check my levels please.

Hello all.

Would someone please check these levels for me. I feel a lot lot better than I was perviously when just on the t4.

I know they are in normal range and expected the t3 to affect the other levels but want

to know if they are consistent with what they should be on these meds. Also do I try and eek up the t3 a bit more?

Most noticeably on the t3 I have way more energy, my eyes do not constantly feel tired and my mood

is much better. Just on the t4 I felt constantly irritable and thoroughly cheesed off and really low.

I am still suffering with joint pain and muscle aches. But the fact that I have energy and don’t feel like life is pointless anymore makes that bearable.

I was falling asleep by 2pm each day. This last week I have spent everyday active from morning to night doing things I believed I'd not be able to do again.

In March when I had the first lot done, I was on 100 t4 only

The second lot this month I am on 100 of t4 and 6.25 t3

(Tsh lab normal range 0.27 – 4.2)

TSH March 1.38may 2.38

(T4 lab normal range 12 – 22)

T4 March 19may 16.3

(T3 lab normal range 3.1 – 6.8)

T3 March 3.6may 4.6

thank you

Tsh lab normal range 0.27 – 4.2)

TSH (0.27-4.20)

March 1.38 ..... May 2.38

FT4 (12-22)

March 19 ..... May 16.3

FT3 (3.1-6.8)

March 3.6 ..... May 4.6

Were both tests done under exact same conditions, ie

* Early morning test, same time to avoid difference in TSH due to time of day

* Last dose of Levo 24 hours before test to give accurate FT4 level

* Last dose of T3 8-12 hours before test to give accurate FT3 level

* Water only before test (certain food and drink can affect TSH)

If you can answer the questions we can interpret the results accurately.

Your higher TSH in May is unusual as taking T3 lowers TSH so we would expect to see it lower than the March level.

Yes to all the questions apart from the last one. I would have had water but also a coffee early around 7.30am and water half hour before the test which was done at 9.30 am . But both tests were done under the exact same conditions including times between meds etc.

So it's possible that the coffee might have interefered with the TSH result, I'm not saying it has, just that there is a possibility as coffee can interfere with some blood tests:

healthline.com/health/fasti...

Can you drink coffee if you’re fasting before a blood test?

Even if you drink it black, coffee can interfere with blood test results. That’s because it contains caffeine and soluble plant matter, which might skew your test results.

Other than than I cannot explain why your TSH should have risen, it's most unusual, especially as you've added T3.

However, your FT4 and FT3 results are as expected after adding T3, your FT4 has reduced and your FT3 has increased. There is still plenty of room for FT3 to increase if you feel the need as it's only 40.54% through range and when on combination thyroid hormone replacement it's often the case that most people feel best when FT3 is over half way through range. Where FT4 is best is very much down to the individual, some are fine with low FT4 on combination replacement, some still need it reasonably well balanced with FT3.

If those were my results I'd be adding another 6.25mcg T3 at a different time of day to when you're taking it now, so perhaps 6.25mcg T3 with your Levo first thing and second 6.25mcg T3 in the afternoon or before bed. Retest in 8 weeks and I'd just have water only before the test next time, also no biotin (B7) in any supplement, eg B Complex, for a few days before the test to make sure absolutely nothing can interefere with the results.
