Hi,
I am flying to Italy next week for a weeks holiday and wandering if it would be ok to take my NDT (Thyroid-S) with me or should I leave it at home to be safe?
Obviously i do not have a prescription for this.

If you need this medication (and I'm assuming you do or you wouldn't have it), no don't leave it at home. Does it say on the bottle that it's a prescription medication? If not, then you wouldn't be expected to have a prescription for it.
If it were me, I would make sure I have more than enough with me, as you never know what might happen in terms of flight delays or whatever. Have it in your hand luggage so that it's always with you. But also make sure you leave some at home too.
Having said all this, it's along time since I've travelled out of the UK, so others may have better expereince and advice! 😊
Don't spoil you holiday by not taking your medicine.
Suggest you count out enough for your time away plus a few days extra for emergencies. Leave the rest at home. Small containers are handy. I have kept several film tubs, but now that our photos are all digital we don't get them any more.

I would take it in it's original container rather than decant it into an unmarked one. It's doubtful it will be questioned but if you're worried because you don't have a prescription you can say it's a supplement.
Earlier this century, there was even an Italian desiccated thyroid product - Cinetic. Unfortunately that was discontinued over ten year ago.
(Unlike France which made desiccated thyroid medicines illegal.)
I guess I will take it in the bottle and take the chance on being stopped. It is an activity holiday and last time we went I did not take it and took some prescribed Levo that I still had instead.
Ruined the holiday for me as one of the reasons I went to NDT in the first place was the arthritic like symptoms Levo gave me. Those symptoms all came back a few days into the holiday and prevented me joining in some of the activities.
Hi
I take NDT without a prescription, I’ve been to Spain, USA and took my NDT with no issues.
I pop mine in one of these weekly pill boxes along with my vitamins which are individually bagged in sandwich bags for each day, they are not in the original packaging. I’ve never been stopped or asked about it.
I also carry some loose NDT in my hand luggage (handbag) in an unmarked pot, as I need to take during the day and spare in case my case goes missing.
Again never been asked.
Enjoy your holiday
Best wishes
