Feeling hot, tired and depressed

Hi everyone so after my last post I have been upped to 75mg levothyroxine by my doctor and will test in a couple months again and hopefully this can help a bit. Still having real lying depressing evenings which is bringing me down but starting anew exercise regimen this week to hopefully help.

However I was coming to ask if it’s common or people experience being hot like just doing anything like a casual walk or shopping. Like today feeling really hot, and like I’m sweating but not if you get what I mean. I feel ok. Might be due to me being overweight also but just wondered if this may effect others.

Thank you.

if it's only about a week since you increased dose i wouldn't worry about feeling hot and tired just yet, it's probably just your system starting to feel the effect of the increase .. hopefully over then next week or two you will find you acclimatise OK to the new dose .The first few weeks are often full of all sorts of weirdness when you increase or decrease dose .. i find the first 4/5 weeks are a bit 'all over the place' when i change dose .. then after that thing start to settle down and usually improve slowly from then on.

Some people do find 25mcg is too much to go up by all in one go ,, so they cut a 25mcg in half to get 12.5mcg .. and do a few weeks at just 62.5 , rather than 75 ..... and then go up to 75 once they are used to 62.5mcg .

( or they can take 50 /75 on alternate days~ still gives same effective dose as 62.5mcg , but some don't like the feeling of different dose on different days i don't so i split a 25mcg to take same each day . )

If you've been stuck on 50mcg for quite a while and have been left undermedicated , and your body had got used to trying to function like that ,then it might be that you would do better to do 62.5 for a few weeks first .

Hi

Yes. I get hot upon being active. . I also get hot when I wake up. I get cold when just sitting. It’s like my body just can’t regulate my temperature. I have found this is much worse when under or over medicated. You have to find what’s right for you.

During my experimenting with doses of both t4 and t3 I have had times when this has gone so I know it’s possible to get it right. It’s all about balance to try and help all your symptoms.

Tattybogle is right though, just because you can feel crappy when you first raise doesn’t mean you won’t feel better a few weeks in so don’t lose heart. It’s frustrating because it’s a slow old process but you can feel improved.
