There is a post immediately below yours entitled "Soy". Greygoose has given an explanation as to why soy is not a good idea:
healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
"Because soy impedes the uptake of thyroid hormone by the cells. So, you can have good levels in the blood, but still be hypo."
May be, but I'm sure a lot of hypos take soy products with no trouble. I'm going to post a query re. this, if I can think of how to word it with out some getting in a right stew

I think there's very few responders here who "get in a right stew". They're passing on information they have found through experience or research, for the benefit of the member posing a question.

There probably are, and it could very well have affected the uptake of thyroid hormone, which may be reflected in their results in which case their dose of thyroid hormone would be adjusted to account for any absorption issues the soy may have made. There are those who take their thyroid hormone with food, and it should be taken away from food due to absorption issues, but again their dose of Levo would be based on what their results show if absorption has been affected.
There are plenty of articles and studies about soy and Levo, you only have to look for them. Here are a couple from well respected sources:

It's up to the individual to choose what to do.
foxglove,
I wouldn’t advocate soy with thyroid hormone problems because of the ton of research evidencing soy to impede iodide uptake and act as a trigger for autoimmune disease due to ts mimicry of estrogenic actions.
A little bit of vaginal oestrogen is well documented for successful OAB treatment , but if you are already on HRT, then theoretically you shouldn’t need either this or soy isoflavones. Which HRT are you taking?
Not on HRT! that's something I wouldn't have. Better to let nature run it's course. I'm 82 now menopause at 51, period one month as usual then nothing. ....just stopped I had no probs whatsoever!
Thanks for tip re vaginal oestrogen will check this out of interest Hope you well
Do you know what is in soy that affects iodine? Iodine is another thing that seems to cause probs with some TUK members!
foxglove, nope as most research just states the mechanism by which these changes occur is not clear, but good question.
The two major soy isoflavones are genistein and daidzein and I would guess it's their oestrogen-like properties that are both helpful (possibly antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, help against osteoporosis, etc) and unhelpful, some of which I have cited above regarding thyroid issues. They are also in other things such as vegetables, fruits, lentils, and seeds but in much much lesser concentrations.
In addition these isoflavones lack progesterogenic activity so risk elevated oestrogenic actions. These are my guesses based on past reading but there could be other more dominant actions. However, given your age and we are all different if you find soy is only beneficial to you then I would mindfully trial it.
Iodine is a problem because the margins for need are narrow and whether people supplement too much or are deficient the result is the same ... thyroid issues often irreversible. Iodised salt has successfully been the mainstay of iodine deficiency prevention worldwide but some countries such as Denmark have seen large increases in hypothyroidism.
Those UK forum members medicating thyroid hormone replacement should get sufficient iodine from their meds and diet. However, iodine deficiency is becoming more pronounced within the UK so we might be hearing a little more about supplementing it in the future. There are already several papers citing the need for additional iodine to be supplemented during pregnancy.

I have CUTI with OAB and trying to find additions (or alternatives other than Hiprex or D-mannose, Mirabegron etc) to long term antibiotics.
Pumpkin seed oil looks promising!
So, I have been looking for pumpkin seed oil without soy and have now found this one
It's listed as free of gluten, lactose, milk, wheat, soy and artificial flavour/sweetener/colour
