TSH suppressed at 0.02 and feel extremely anxious

My TSH is suddenly way too low—0.006 and T3 in upper range( currently 3.2 and highest is 3.5) which is too high for me. It wasn’t this high when I was on 150mcg Tirosint and latest was taking 125/137 every other day. What’s the best to do to reduce it? I am currently on 112 every day but I am afraid that would be too low in the long run, as I tried it before and it didn’t work well. Thanks

The dose of levothyroxine you need can get lower as you get older .. or at least mine has , i used to need 150mcg then it was 125 , now it's 112.5 mcg .. menopause seemed to have an impact on my previously stable 150mcg dose becoming too high .

So don't assume that because 112 was too low when you had it before, it will still be too low now .

Do you feel overmedicated on current dose , or is it just the numbers bothering you ?

What dose were you on when you took this latest TSH /fT3 test ? (not clear if you were on 125/137 , or 112 at time of test)

Thank you so much for your response. I tested on 137/125 but my tsh was suppressed for two years but not this low even though I was taking 150 until few months ago and when I noticed that I am anxious and my period was lighter then I lowered to 137 and then since it was still suppressed I lowered it to 125/137 and then it spiked. I noticed that something is off because I missed my period completely and has been several months and that correlates with suppressed tsh. Now I am taking 112 to lower it and I noticed that my heart rate calmed down so I suspect is getting better but I don’t think this should be my permanent dose as I was taking it two years ago and couldn’t breathe or see properly. Thanks

What’s the range on Ft4 and Ft3

Are you currently in the U.K.

You need to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Only test thyroid levels after minimum 6-8 weeks on unchanging dose

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

On levothyroxine we need optimal vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

List of private testing options and money off codes

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins by DIY fingerprick test

If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

Thank you so much!! I always follow your advise and know the drill but I am in the US and here they test FT3 regularly and mine is closer to the upper end which is higher for me compared to how it was when I had my healthy thyroid. I don’t have it anymore due to doctors mistake so I am stuck suffering for no reason, but that is another story. I wanted to reduce it by taking 112 until I am back to normal state and plan to push it back to 125 as that is where I feel best/at least I used to. Thank you so much for your support!!!

Have you tested vitamin levels recently

Have you had Covid, this often seems to upset levels

Retest after 8-10 weeks on 112mcg ….see what levels are then

Thanks! I think I had COVID around New Years since most my family got it but only had strong headache for two days. I know I am overmedicated since I completely lost my period last two months and it was light before then. Higher the dose lighter it was getting. My hair is fine as well which is to me always indicator that I am not at the right place. I will ask for vitamins test on my next appointment. Anything else I should ask for at this point? Thank you again for your help and always useful advice!!!
