Hi I had this test from medicheck just so I could order more T3 from Roseway.

I as most surprised . Followed all protocols did it 6.45 am . Never had high T3 before .

The last 2/3 weeks I have been so very tired when walking and having to sit around more than usual . So not what I expected !

Probably a bit hotter at night but that’s been a problem for years , even before my thyroid was removed .

Me thinks I should lower T3 from 10 mcg to 5mcg?

I take levo , same brand 75mcg , that’s been the same for ages

Any thoughts on my plan ?

So I won’t able to order now as the Pharmacist writes to GP 😳 don’t think TSH will go down very well !!

When having a blood test for thyroid hormones, it is recommended we always make the earliest appointment for blood draw. It is a fasting test and we don't take thyroid hormones before but afterwards.

Presumably you didn't increase your T3 dose which you were considering a couple of months ago?

Have you had a Covid booster? I found that my FT4 and FT3 levels increased after the Pfizer booster, FT3 more so than FT4, I ended up lowering my dose of T3.

Oh. Now that could apply to me ! I had a 4th vaccine about a month ago .

I think I will drop to 5mcg. T3 for now.

I’ll test in 6 weeks .

Did you need to increase your T3 after a period of time to what it was before your covid booster?

No, not yet.

I don't think this is a common occurrence because I've not seen anyone else mention it.

Previous tests before Pfizer booster (2 core vaccines were Astrazeneca and no change in levels):

FT4 65% through range

FT3 87% through range

Booster 12/11/21

Test 22/11/21:

FT4 up to 80% through range

FT3 up to 94% through range

Test 12/1/22:

FT4 77% through range

FT3 up to 100% through range

After that result I reduced dose of T3 by 6.25mcg

Test 28/3/21:

FT4 78% so it Looks like FT4 has now stabilised at a higher level than my normal.

FT3 now down to 70%

Those were all private tests (I don't normally do them that often)

I will repeat test in a couple of months to see whether any further adjustment needs to be made. If levels same as last test I may reduce Levo because my FT4 is not normally that high.

I had same brands as you. But I don’t think I had noticeable changes like you. I’m very mindful of changes though as I’m pretty sensitive to things. I usually get migraines (it’s a specialty of mine). I’m wondering is there will be any effects from Moderna if that’s what we get offered next?

I haven’t had Covid either (not to my knowledge) and hope that doesn’t cause any issues as and when it happens.

I wonder how many have had this bleep in levels . How many would test by chance snd notice this ? I wouldn’t have. I only had the test as I wanted to buy more T 3 and needed a script .

I had the vaccine types as you did , in the same order .

Symptoms hadn’t alerted me to do so but on reflection I had been much hotter at night snd was experiencing much worse fatigue than usual .

Like a lot of people I just soldier on!

I will now test again in s few months as you did in case I return to where my levels typically were.

Your experience is invaluable as I would not have been alerted to this otherwise .

Pure fluke that I tested at those times actually. I'd been checking my levels because in September 2020 I had a "surprise" thyroid test at the GP when having other tests, despite me refusing the thyroid test as I'd taken my thyroid meds that morning so it gave an over range FT4. GP wanted me to reduce dose and I refused, but I did an experiment anyway to prove a point and my FT4 went down from 119% at their surprise test to 22% at the lower dose. I felt cr*p at this low level so I increased again and spent the next 12 months monitoring my levels with Monitor My Health to see how long it took to bring my FT4 back up.

I got back to what is normal for me in October 2021 and then had the booster in November 2021. I tested with MMH couple of weeks after that as I hadn't tested to check levels since July and that's when I discovered the increases in FT4 and FT3 with FT3 being the biggest increase. No other reason for the increase, I don't have Hashi's so that's not a reason for any fluctuation, and vitamin levels optimal and stable.

I'm sure it's not an issue for everyone, but just goes to show how we are all different. It would be interesting though to know if anyone else has noticed this especially if no symptoms of overmedication.

Indeed could be that others are affected without knowing . Guess I will be alert to and boosters in the future .

Too much thyroxine T3 or T4 can cause tiredness. I get very tired when over medicated. And if you did your blood draw before ingesting your T3 or T4 you seem to be over medicated. As soon as you take your medication the levels will rise. If this is happening daily then your TSH will be suppressed reflecting you are taking too much medication. I’d lower the T3 dose. See how you feel in a couple of days. And if you feel better then stick with the lower dose. We all aim for a healthy persons TSH of 1.00. Which means keeping medication within the T4 and T3 levels best you can. I have done 2 blood tests. One without ingesting medication and one with ingesting. You can then see where your levels rise to. My latest TSH was 0.90(0.35-5.50) and both my T4 and T3 levels were within ranges.

I’ve never felt so good and energetic generally. I try to keep my levels in range. This keeps me stable and my Endocrinologists happy to keep prescribing also.

After the Pfizer booster vaccine, my numbers shot up as did my husbands. Very odd!

Oooh, that's interesting RachelP03 . Would you mind giving us more details as it seems as though Gcart and I have both experienced higher FT4/FT3 levels after the Pfizer booster, certainly increasing the FT3 level enough to warrant a reduction in T3 dose.

I wonder how many of us have been affected like this.

Did you have any symptoms of overmedication?

Have you got the numbers so that we can see how much difference it made?

Were your first two vaccines a different make?
