No idea, but I eat sweet potato several times a week which seems to keep me regular. This link tells about the benefits of sweet potato.
You can find out from these two links :
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieta...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refer...
Theoretically you'd expect the links to agree with each other, but there are some differences.

This is something you have to experiment with and find what dose you need. Your requirement is likely to be different from someone else's.
I use magnesium citrate for constipation and I use the powder form which makes it possible to tweak the dose finely to find exactly how much you need.
I use Natural Calm Original (no flavour) Magnesium Citrate. Seems expensive but should work out quite budget friendly as you may not need much.
Start low - 1/4 of a teaspoonful, build up gradually and once you reach the stage where stools are too loose or diarrhoea then drop it back a bit.
I use kitchen scales that measure in 1 gram increments to give the exactly amount I need each day.
Have you thought about trying apple cider vinegar (with The Mother) capsules which are brilliant. Just two a day keeps me regular and comfortable and I've even persuaded my husband to take them despite his dislike of "medicine"!Heather
Thanks heathermr. I will give it a try.
