No it is a different brand. Here is a document about the different brands
No - Glenmark is not the same as any other levothyroxine. Available in 25, 50 and 100 microgram dosages. Does not contain lactose.
What Levothyroxine Tablets contain:
The active substance is anhydrous levothyroxine sodium.
The other ingredients are Microcrystalline Cellulose (E460), Croscarmellose Sodium, Light Magnesium Oxide (E530), Sodium Stearyl Fumarate.
It is new to the UK market. You are, I think, the first member to say they have received it. Hence, we have no personal experiences to add.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.

I was thinking there must be GPs out there who are suffering the effects of Hadhimotos who could advocate for better treatment, instead of one size fits all 🤔
I meant Hashimotos 😅

Hi just catching up on this. My teen has just been given Glenmark for first time. Issue is the packaging. It requires fine motor skills to get the tablet out by breaking off a segment of package and peeling off film. It cant just be pushed out like other brands. She is barely conscious at medication time. I am always being told to back off and let her be more independent with her meds. Have asked pharmacist to look into this but as I am not the patient it is not straightforward.
I'd consider raising a Yellow Card report - as a defective medicine. It is perfectly reasonable to do so even if the issue would only affect a few people.

I wonder why they chose to use a different packaging?
Hi Camomile9I was surprised when I first saw the packaging.
I tend to peel back the cover and pop the tablet out. My first tablet I peeled away from the packaging, now I don't bother but your left with empty pouches to put back in the box.
Strange design I've not come across before either.
Don't know if the pharmacist would be able to help though.
Sorry for a teenager having to deal with this, can't be easy.
❤️
thanks, glad you are coping with it. She completely was unable to do the peeling part of it!
I've just picked one up for first time for my 25mg script. Been given Mercury pharma last few times. Don't mind trying it as I did have a reaction to lactose with a test (really mad as I love full cream milk) but didn't seem to get on with Teva, though only got that once.
