I have requested my results be printed, for my records, however im concerned that my gp stated low renal function, to retest in 2 weeks, prior to next test not to eat meat for 2 days. Also my cholesterol is 7.4 and was advised to consult my gp.
Can anyone advise whether itcould be thyroid/low t3 related?

I'm not sure that this is appropriate advice, unless you don't eat meat on most days. If you do eat meat most days abstaining before testing will put a positive slant on your results, as will hydrating more than is usual for you.
I would personally ignore that advice unless I'd decided to give up meat long term (which is a good idea if you have a kidney problem). In order to see the most accurate trends you need to stick to what is normal for you.
NB Strenuous exercise is not advised prior to testing as this will have a negative impact on results.
The advice given about not eating meat before this test is exactly the same as being told not to take thyroid meds before testing, or to fast prior to other tests. Your advice not to over-hydrate or exercise beforehand serves the same purpose! There are reasons why certain things are advised against before certain tests, and this advice should be adhered to as it is given for a reason. Not doing so will result in a temporary change in certain levels which will affect the true picture and give a false diagnosis. Any testing process and subsequent diagnosis is based on advice given about that test being followed. If the advice is ignored, the results and interpretation will be flawed.
I will eat as normal the day before exclude meat as requested, but have fish instead and fast from 6pm till after blood following day. I dont do anything strenuous now, just dog walk and stretching. Hey ho🐾
Hi Geegee777, I would keep an open mind and not link every illness or symptom to your thyroid as there are people with renal issues and high cholesterol who have perfectly functioning thyroids so I would not introduce anything before your retest.
Hi, thank you for your reply. Ive been researching how to source t3 for some time, whilst trying to optimise my vitamins and maintaining a gluten and now nearly lactose free diet.
My private blood tests have indicated low t3 which suggests poor conversion.
I am still feeling rubbish most of the time, so i feel i may benefit from an additional of t3
