Is it too early to check thyroid levels?

I haven't had thyroid labs drawn since November. I started an antidepressant, Cymbalta, 5 weeks ago. Before starting Cymbalta, I've been sleeping a TON and have zero energy. Is it too soon to check thyroid labs or should I wait a bit longer? If I need to wait, how long?

Drowsiness and fatigue are also listed as side effects of your anti-d, so it will be interesting to see what your thyroid labs are like.

Do you think I should wait until the six week mark to check bloodwork? I’m on 20mg of cymbalta now but my doc said to go up. Not sure if I should get bloodwork done before increasing?

To be honest I don't think there is an answer as to how long to wait. Nobody can say how long it will take your body to adapt. I would do what you want to do

I took cymbalta and my thyroid labs were awful my TSH was so low my meds got reduced as soon as I stopped them and tested again my labs went back up … its a crazy medication

Hi my experience with cymbalta is only for mood and chronic pain and I found it helpfull for both and amytripline for sleep which I no longer use.But I found cymbalta a useful drug for my mood and fibromya I now take 90 mg per day.

One issue is cymbalta withdrawal symptoms can be difficult if you decided to suddenly stop.
