On tv news there was a discussion on this last night. They said it isn’t for all types of menopause symptoms, only the one where dryness is a problem.Other symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats etc. need a different type of HRT which they say aren’t being sold over the counter.

This doesn’t apply to me now anyway, I’m just telling about what was said.

Personally I wouldn’t touch it, I went down the natural remedies route. My sister went on HRT and got breast cancer, I’m not saying that is what caused it but it is one of the risks you take.

It's a personal choice, and any medication runs risks. I guess it dependsn on how bad your symptoms are and if you can manage them naturally.

The risks of breast cancer are very minimal. In fact if you take estrogen only it reduces your risk of breast cancer. The studies that mentioned the risks 20 yrs ago have since been disproven. Dr Louise Newsome explains all of this on her website/balance App/YouTube. I don’t know how to add a link 🤦‍♀️.HRT reduces your risks of heart disease/osteoporosis/breast cancer. Please don’t be scared of HRT. Learn about and make an informed choice

Thanks for your reply but as I said in my post, the question of whether to go down the HRT path or not, does not apply to me. It has been 20 years since I started my menopause and I have been over it for 5 years.

Yes, if anyone is curious, it takes that long!

I didn’t believe it myself when the woman in the health store told me it would last that long, but it did.
