Yes Levo is available over counter in Spain!

Just to let all those who are looking for over counter levo, it is available in Spain. Im on the costa brava at the moment and was able to get 25mg x 100 for 2€ and 100 x 50mg for 3€. No questions asked xx

Hi that's great am going to Costa Blanca in august so will definitely have a look in pharmacy while I'm there.

I had to ask for it and told him which allergies I had so he went into a very big drawer and picked what he thought was best for me. He gave me Eutirox by Merck. Its the German brand have heard its a good option xx

I was looking for Levo too. It's very good to know other ways on how to get Levothyroxine. Just in case.

Since this post (over two years old) we have seen reports that levothyroxine is no longer available without prescription in Spain.

I suggest you post a brand new post to ask about the current situation.

I shall now close this thread. Not that you did anything wrong, just to ensure we do not get further responses here.

Do you mean T4 levo? Sorry, but I don't understand why anyone needs to buy T4 over the counter. I thought it was cheap enough in the UK. Confused. It's T3 that everyone's having to buy abroad surely ???

Yes t4! In uk its prescription only. My doc wont prescribe it as my tsh was only 4.1. Im sure there are lots of people out there in my boat, Ive had 11 years of being unwell, fat and miserable with very low t4 and t3. After much intensive research Ive decided to buy it myself. Im confident that I can do it safely. There are also loads of people that are being kept unwell by their docs because they are undermedicated so they have to find their own sources. Im so glad its available here in Spain and so cheap no worries of being ripped off on the internet x

Is that all over Spain? I was going to order some over the internet as I've told my GP and endo, I'm going alone, as they won't treat my hashis. But I'm going on holiday to costa del sol in a couple of weeks, could I get some there, save me buying over the net at first? Do I just ask? I have no empty boxes of levo to show the pharmacist, also, how many can you bring back?

I would think its all over Spain as same regulations apply. Im going to Canaries in September so hoping for a top up. Its called levotiroxina de sodio in spain. My sister had an empty box so I just flashed that and said Mi buscando. Thats im looking for.... They speak very good english and very helpful. Each box 100 pills and they are scored for breaking in half. You are allowed to bring them for personal use maybe better stock up for brexit. We have no idea what might happen then ☹

You can also buy at pharmacies in Portugal. I have never been asked any questions or for a prescription.

HI Magsyh,

How wonderful for you. How are you feeling now and are you still obtaining T3 from Spain. Do you have the name of the pharmacy in Spain as my sister is in agony since her pharmacy has advised her that they have been unable to obtain it. Now she's left in the lurch in absolute agony and unable to move. It's so irresponsible of the NHS to withdraw it and not allow patients to have it. Please reply as we are desperate.
