Hi has anyone had an OATs test - private or through GP and if so did the results help you manage your Hashimotos, adjust supplements etc?
I am intending to have one as I am not sure of the supplements I should be taking and if anything else is going on in my body I can improve. I dont think I have my thyroid meds quite right but feel better than I have for a long time but still not as well as I think I should.

I'm sure this will be known to those that have had OATs test, but for the rest of the community, can you please explain what it is? Or give a link to an explanation? I'm guessing it has nothing to do with porridge 😆
Sorry no experience (annoying sorry) but it sounds brill. Is it really expensive? If anyone has got one through their regular GP I want to know which one. It sounds like you're more likely to receive a prescription for Liothyronine than such a comprehensive test.
Hi, the cheapest I found was £235, they are available through NHS but I didn't bother trying and they have a 3 month TRT. I will go to my GP with results, depending on what they are there are follow up tests.
I had one recently but personally found it of little value tbh with plenty ifs/buts. You would need a good practitioner to interpret the results if you proceed. My cost was £180.
Cheers, I have many strange "allergic" reactions I am investigating. The allergy specialist signed me ofc as there were too many to identify so I just take daily prescription antihist which don't work brilliantly. Find the root cause 😀
