I'm wondering about doing a cortisol test?

I'm feeling stressed at the moment I've noticed swelling on my face now and weight fluctuations around 5 pounds a day up and down

I'm having issues recovering from my weight lifting too I worked on my glutes about 4/5 days ago and I'm hit with muscle pain badish aches

I have hashimoto's I believe cortisol issues can also happen?

If I order from medichecks how should I go about doing the test? Ie like fasting, avoid taking any meds 24 hours before

Don't waste your money on a Medichecks test, it only tests cortisol and you need cortisol plus DHEA testing. Testing DHEA as well as cortisol helps with determining stages of adrenal fatigue. In the initial stage, both cortisol and DHEA will be high, the more we struggle to produce stress hormones then DHEA will lower, and more advanced adrenal fatigue then cortisol will lower too.

Use either Regenerus or Genova Diagnostics who include both tests. I prefer Regenerus who email direct when results are available, Genova send them to ThyroidUK who then will send them on to you once they receive your consent.

Adrenal test is on page 3 of the pdf linked to.

I wasn't expecting it to be that expensive 😳 may need to save up a bit, is there anything naturally I can do without testing atm help the symptoms?

Without knowing what's causing your symptoms it's not easy to say. It may not be anything to do with your adrenals so you shouldn't take any adrenal supplements without knowing.

Ah okay, I'll keep trying to push forward I think if I haven't lost any weight by February I may order the test just for peace of mind
